Economic Assessment and Control Strategy of Combined Heat and Power Employed in Centralized Domestic Hot Water Systems

With the increasing application of CHP and an industry transition to distributed energy, it is necessary make a comprehensive economic analysis comparison entire lifetime from net present value (NPV), payback period, cost-saving ratio (CSR). Five systems, including micro-CHP, gas boiler (GB), air-source heat pump (ASHP), domestic gas-fired heater electric hot water-heater, are simulated. First, this paper takes annual use efficiency (AHUE) into account compare economy each water (DHW) system. The results show that system most economical option in AHUE 31.28%. influence under different then analyzed. DHW based on best when more than 55.35%. Finally, three operation strategies considered paper. From perspective energy cost payback, internal combustion-based with thermal (TES) superior other two being studied. Considering optimal benefits, CSR 41.3%, 69.69% 69.77%, respectively.
